Last Drinks At Extended Play It's been a whirlwind 12 months, we've made lots of new friends, and we'll miss having a monthly party at ours, but our lease is up, and unfortunately that means that Extended Play is closing its doors. Today we handed back the keys and locked up for the last time. Thanks to everyone that exhibited and came to all the shows. See you at someone else's opening with a piece of cheese and a glass of booze soon. |

Extended Play Gallery is proud to present the work of Melbourne artist Benjamin Johnson! :: OPENING NIGHT - THURSDAY 6th MAY 6-8pm :: Stumbling home from the pub late one night Benjamin and his girlfriend Celia came across a broken down old ride on toy truck. The truck was dumped up against a power pole and pretty much left for dead but Benjamin and Celia could see that the old truck still had some life left in his eyes so they took him on one last, laughter filled, drunken joy ride.... probably the ride of his life! From that fate filled night it seemed that everywhere Benjamin and Celia journeyed they would see the lifeless carcasses of discarded ride on toys lay rotting by the side of suburban roads. It's become their mission to take them all for that one final spin around the block. This exhibition is a celebration of those once loved ride on toys, it is also an exploration of the lives they may (or may not) have lived. Extended Play Gallery presents: Terra Interstellar - A living, breathing alien ecosystem. - - CLOSING NIGHT SHOW - - Saturday 27th February 7-10pm - - Alcohol provided by Kitty Somerset Open from the 17th to the 27th of February at Extended Play Gallery Scrape the asphalt from your shoes and enter into the inky slime and kaleidoscopic floors of another world as Artists include: Lee Anantawat, Paul Dornau, Cait Foran, Kate Gilbert, Eugenia Lim, Joanna Mortreux, Al Ouchtomsky, Bonnie Robertson, Zoe Scoglio, and Jessie Scott. The expanding habitat will also be host to a number of sound artists whose performances will reverberate through the rudimentary stages of the exhibition right to the closing night where the evolutionary clock stops.
